DescriptionThe Stillman College Fine Arts Department announces a vacancy for a full-time Instructor of Music. This is a nine-month full-time non-tenure-track in-person position. Reporting to the Chair of the FineArts Department the Instructor of Music directs undergraduate Music majors development of competency in piano performance class piano and the complete undergraduate sequence of music theory. The instructor also provides collaborative piano support for the Stillman College Choir and musical services for campus events.Job Responsibilities Instructional Duties Provide weekly individual applied piano lessons to students majoring or minoring in Piano. Teach various levels of Class Piano for non-majors and majors requiring competency development. Develop and deliver instruction for the complete undergraduate Music Theory sequence (TheoryIIV). Teach additional foundational music courses in the Fine Arts Department curriculum as needed.Performance & Departmental Service Serve as the primary Accompanist for the Stillman College Choir supporting all rehearsals performances and public appearances. Accompany juries and degree recitals. Provide musical performance for official college events and services including Convocation and Chapel Services. Actively participate in Fine Arts recruitment efforts including auditions and outreach events. Maintain grades attendance and required academic records current within Canvas and Self Service.Qualifications Required: An awarded Masters degree or higher in Music or a related field from an accredited institution. Demonstrated collegiate-level teaching experience in Applied Piano Class Piano and Music Theory. Exceptional collaborative piano skills particularly in accompanying choral ensembles.
