The Instructor of Nursing position is a full-time twelve (12) month nursing education faculty member for the Nursing program on the ASU-Searcy campus. The selected faculty member will be able to teach all phases of the Practical Nursing and Registered Nursing Programs: supervise clinical practice; supervise extra help clinical instructors, as needed; teach other health-related classes, and assist with the evening and weekend classes and activities as required. The candidate should strive for continual improvement of student success by planning an optimal learning environment; providing high quality instruction and advising; participating in the development of learning outcomes and in the assessment of students as well as of self and applied teaching techniques in order to increase effectiveness; and engaging in ongoing professional development.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare and read over assigned lesson plansPresent lesson plans to studentsAdminister and grade tests and student assignmentsAdvise studentsSupervise students in all aspects of clinical educationWork closely with supervisor regarding nursing education teaching materialsOrder needed supplies to teach required materialWork with supervisor regarding materials being presented and problems encounteredClinical supervision of client care by studentsMake clinical assignments for students based upon students’ knowledge level and abilitiesCalculate student gradesCollaboration with faculty and administration on curriculum development, revision, and updatesAttend nursing faculty and department meetings, division meetings, and advisory meetingsTravel to other ASU-Beebe campuses and clinical sites for teaching and meetings.Assist students with all invasive procedures performed on clients at clinical sitesPerform any other related duties as required or assigned.Required Qualifications:Registered Nurse with an unencumbered license in Arkansas; Associate’s Degree in Nursing; and must be willing to work flexible hours including weekends.Minimum Salary or Salary Range:$51,233 plus $8,000 year 1 stipendStand:continuouslyWalk:continuouslySit:frequentlyUse hands to finger, handle, or feel:regularlyReach with hands and arms:regularlyClimb or balance:frequentlyStoop, kneel, crouch or crawl:regularlyTalk or Hear:continuouslyTaste or smell:frequentlyUp to 10 pounds:regularlyUp to 25 pounds:frequentlyUp to 50 pounds:occasionallyUp to 100 pounds:occasionallyDoes this position have any special vision requirements?
