Major/Essential FunctionsParticipates in course administration and instruction for the dental school curriculumDevelops and delivers an integrated curriculum, which blends basic science and clinical concepts, in collaboration with faculty members in other disciplinesEmploys multiple teaching methods, including case-based instruction, large- and small-group discussion, lecture, demonstration, simulation, team-based learning, and distance educationProvides formative and summative assessment of dental student performanceProvides individual support, feedback, and advice to dental studentsWorks closely with the course and curriculum committees, fellow faculty, and key administrators to accomplish the goals and objectives of the dental school's curriculumEngages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarshipContributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional missionServes the academic community through participations in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative dutiesEngages in clinical practice of pediatric dentistryAdheres to institutional policies and proceduresDemonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine Declaration of Faculty Professional ResponsibilityPreferred QualificationsBoard certification by the American Board of Pediatric DentistryExperience in teaching pediatric dentistry as a clinically-integrated dentistry program to dental studentsExperience in teaching behavior management in a clinically-integrated dentistry program to dental studentsExperience in the use of medical/dental imaging, laboratory findings, restorations, and clinical case-based scenarios in the teaching of pediatric dentistryExperience in development and delivery of clinical pediatric dentistryExperience in development and delivery of an integrated dental curriculumExperience with innovative teaching methods, such as interactive large- and small-group formats, laboratory-based instruction, team-based learning, case-based learning, problem based learning, and distance educationExperience with curriculum and clinical management software systemsParticipation in national organizations or committees devoted to dental educationExperience in dental education scholarshipExperience in the development of grant proposals and the management of extramural fundingEmerging or established regional or national reputation for associate professor or higher rankPay StatementCompensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan.
