JOB DESCRIPTION

Job description:

  • Handle PIP and Coverage litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Represent the company in Forthright arbitration and New Jersey Superior Court litigation.
  • Collaborate closely with Claims teams to develop litigation strategies and resolve claims efficiently.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, arbitration submissions, discovery responses, and appeals.
  • Conduct and defend depositions and Examinations Under Oath (EUOs).
  • Attend hearings, arbitrations, pre-trial conferences, and motion arguments.
  • Manage settlement negotiations and evaluate litigation exposure.
  • Prepare cases for arbitration, dispositive hearings, and trials.
  • Handle Rule 35 applications and post-trial/post-arbitration motions.

Qualifications:

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active and good standing membership with the New Jersey State Bar.
  • Minimum 2+ years of Insurance Defense litigation experience preferred.
  • Strong experience handling PIP and Coverage litigation matters.
  • Experience working in both Forthright and NJ Superior Court strongly preferred.
  • Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload.
  • Strong deposition, EUO, arbitration, and motion practice experience.
  • Excellent legal writing, research, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable navigating multiple legal systems/platforms.
