Job DescriptionThis PositionThe Therapeutic CourtIntake Coordinator conducts screenings for potential participants documents the rationale for eligibility determinations summarizes and shares screening results with the referring Attorney Therapeutic Court DA and Project Coordinator and forwards approved cases to the Multi-Disciplinary Therapeutic Court Team (MDT) for admission. Using these screening tools the Coordinator develops recommendations for initial case plans performs program orientations and intake interviews and assists individuals with completing Medicaid and other public benefit applications as well as all required intake paperwork and releases of information. The role includes connecting participants with social service agencies for community resources such as public benefits treatment services and other court-ordered supports; tracking referral-to-admission milestones to identify delays and notifying the MDT when benchmarks are exceeded; and ensuring accuracy and completeness of all screening and intake data in accordance with statewide standards. The Coordinator enters screening information using standardized formats prepares correspondence and reports collaborates with justice and social-service professionals on referrals assists with residential treatment and housing applications and placements attends pre-court staffing when needed provides court-ordered testimony participates in MDT meetings and trainings and follows All Rise Adult Drug Court Best Practice Standards while remaining current on related trainings.This position is grant-funded for up to three years or until the end of available grant funding.Employees transferring from another State of Alaska agency may receive consideration for an advance step placement.An ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge skills and abilities. Please detail each of these in the required letter of interest.Experience working with State agencies for example the Alaska Court System the Office of Children Services the Department of Law the Public Defender Agency the Office of Public Advocacy & the Department of Corrections.Extensive knowledge of mental health substance use dual diagnosis and trauma-informed care practices.Experience and the ability to perform effective screening and case management services with challenging individuals and ability to provide those services with empathy.Knowledge of the criminal justice and human services systems.Effective oral written and presentation skills.Ability to gather and analyze data identify key issues and relationships draw conclusions and make appropriate decisions based on the facts of the situation.Ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues community mental health and substance use disorder providers etc.The Work HoursThis position is scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break.
