Staffmark is looking for new talent in Lafayette, LA! We are hiring an Intake Specialist to join a dedicated team delivering personalized healthcare. Advance your career with this temp-to-hire position today. Schedule: 8 AM - 5 PM | Monday - FridayPay: $16 - 18/hr. Key Responsibilities Collect patient demographics, insurance details, and co-pays. Verify insurance benefits and provide clear benefit breakdowns. Obtain and follow up on prior authorizations as required. Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, and referral sources. Process incoming referrals and enter data into the patient and billing system. Review medical records to confirm medical necessity. Notify sales teams or referral sources of missing or incomplete documentation. Document referral status in the system and report issues to the Intake Manager/Supervisor. Support additional tasks and projects as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-2 years of DME or medical office experience preferred. Strong understanding of medical insurance, Medicare/Medicaid, PPO/HMO, and in-network vs. out-of-network. Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 codes, claim forms, HIPAA, and medical terminology. Ability to read medical documentation and maintain accurate records. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and healthcare software systems. Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
