Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible with the ultimate goal ofenabling human life on Mars.INTEGRATION & TEST ENGINEER (DRAGON)Integration and Test engineers are responsible for understanding every system on the Dragon 2 spacecraft and how they are interconnected. Engineers on this team must have working knowledge of overall vehicle design schematics operations manufacturing testing and flight. A successful Integration and Test engineer demonstrates engineering intuition and critical thinking and is comfortable working under ambiguous or unclear requirements with minimal oversight. Combining these skills these engineers face challenges across a wide variety of work centers at the company and the team is frequently asked to tackle new inter-departmental development projects. The ultimate goal of the Integration and Test team is to ensure that the Dragon 2 spacecraft interfaces successfully with the International Space Station which is vital to the on-board astronaut crew and their missions.RESPONSIBILITIES:Design high-level vehicle assembly architectureManage vehicle integration build flow and test operationsEvaluate proposed designs for manufacturability and integrationInterface with both engineers and technicians to optimize manufacturing and automationDevelop and refine manufacturing assembly procedures based on lessons learnedEnable day-to-day execution of the vehicle integration and test flowEvaluate non-conformances to determine root cause and create actionable items and system improvementsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering aerospace engineering or other engineering discipline1 years of engineering experience in manufacturing design test or development (internship and project team experience is applicable)PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Masters degree inan engineering discipline1 years of experience with CAD software packages (internship and extracurricular experience is applicable)Experience with integration and testing of propulsion thermal electrical and/or structural systemsDocumentation and configuration management experienceExperience writing test plans procedures and providing go/no-go judgment and rationaleExperience in a production environmentDemonstrated engineering intuition critical thinking comfort with ambiguityADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Some travel to our launch sites may be required as needed up to 5%Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and VandenbergIntermittently able to work longer hours and weekends to support critical needsThis position is very hands-on and requires one to be on their feet for extended periods of time up to 4 hours at a timeWill often require working on the floor must be able to climb ladders and be comfortable working in tight spacesCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Pay range:Integration & Test Engineer/Level I: $95000.00 - $115000.00/per yearIntegration & Test Engineer/Level II: $110000.00 - $130000.00/per yearYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills education and experience.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
