Position Highlights

• Location: VA Medical Center – Houston, TX
• Shift: Night Shift
• Start Date: Targeting February 1, 2026

Compensation

$45.86 per hour + $5.55 per hour in H&W benefits

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year recent critical care experience (within past 5 years) in SICU, MICU, ICU, or PACU.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (CCNE or ACEN).
• Unrestricted RN license from a U.S. jurisdiction.

Certifications:

• BLS (required for all departments)
• ACLS (required for SICU, IMCU, CCU, ICU)
• Must pass drug test prior to start.
• Resume must show no employment gaps in past 5 years.

Scheduling

• Minimum three 12-hour shifts per week (option for a fourth).
• Four weekend shifts per month required.
• Monthly schedule opens 2nd Monday; submit availability within 10 days.

Onboarding

• Resume, Nursys Verification, BLS & ACLS, 3 professional references.
• Orientation: Wednesdays (Training Wed–Fri, shadowing week two, independent practice week three).
• In-person meet & greet with VA providers.
