Intern - Continuous Improvement (OpEx)
Location: NC-Clayton, US
Contract Type: Internship
Area: GENERAL MANAGEMENT
Purpose & Responsibilities of Position:
The Operational Excellence Intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the Operational Excellence team, learning how process improvement initiatives drive efficiency and quality across Grifols' business units. The intern will support ongoing projects by analyzing workflows, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to optimize operations.
- Assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing operational data related to manufacturing, supply chain, and other business functions.
- Apply Lean methodologies to evaluate current processes and recommend enhancements: 5S and Kaizen
- Participate in process mapping exercises and help document standard operating procedures.
- Support the creation of impactful reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with subject matter experts and team members to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills/Qualifications/Education Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related scientific field (Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain preferred), as a rising junior or senior; OR currently accepted or enrolled in a Master's or PhD program.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Familiarity and comfort with Excel (including working with Macros and pivot tables), Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Interest in process improvement, operational efficiency, and project management.
