Job SummaryThe intern will provide administrative support to the James River Accounting department. Responsibilities include payment of invoices, filing and scanning documents and responding to interdepartmental e-mails. Tasks also include assisting staff with various projects while maintaining daily production standards in a fast paced, time sensitive environment. Duties and ResponsibilitiesContinuously exhibit and uphold Core Values of Integrity, Accountability, Communication and Teamwork, Innovation and Customer ServiceUtilize word processing, spreadsheet applications, and scanning programs to provide administrative support to Accounting departmentPerform general office duties including scanning, copying, data entry, and filingMay coordinate responses to requests regarding claims checksSet up new employee expense filesPrint and mail outgoing correspondenceAssist with employee expense reimbursement systemAssist with accounts payables and receivables Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet researchingPrior experience in scanning documents using Adobe AcrobatExcellent data entry skillsAttention to detailStrong analytical skillsMust be able to work independently as well as within a team Experience and EducationHigh School degree requiredAssociates Degree or college coursework in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance or equivalent experience is preferredPrevious experience in an insurance environment preferred #LI-JB1 Please note that this position is not eligible for H-1B visa sponsorship. All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future H-1B sponsorship.
