JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Documentation & PDM Management

  • Create and revise detailed engineering drawings.

  • Upload, organize, and maintain models and drawings within the PDM database.

  • Ensure proper file structure, revision control, and metadata accuracy.

  • Convert legacy drawings into fully parametric 3D models and assemblies.

  • 3D Modeling & Assembly Development

  • Develop 3D part models and dynamic assemblies using SolidWorks.

  • Build complete 3D window system assemblies including all components and hardware.

  • Configure dynamic assemblies with appropriate mates and motion constraints.

  • Place finalized models and assemblies into PDM with proper revision control.

  • Simulation & Structural Analysis

  • Perform structural simulations using SolidWorks Simulation.

  • Apply appropriate loads, boundary conditions, and material properties.

  • Analyze stress, deflection, and performance relative to design requirements.

  • Refine models to improve simulation accuracy and correlation with physical results.

  • Prototype Development & Testing

  • Assist in fabrication and assembly of full-scale window prototypes.

  • Conduct real-world structural testing on prototypes.

  • Collect and document test data.

  • Compare physical test results with simulation data.

  • Improve and calibrate simulation models to increase predictive accuracy.

  • Qualifications

    Required:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience with AutoCAD 2D drawing.

  • Experience with SolidWorks or 3D modeling software (part modeling and assemblies).

  • Basic understanding of mechanical design principles.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Preferred:

  • Experience with SolidWorks Simulation (FEA).

  • Familiarity with PDM systems.

  • Understanding of structural mechanics and material properties.

  • Experience building or fabricating physical prototypes with hand & power tools.

  • Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to translate engineering concepts into 3D models.

  • Effective technical communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.

  • High level of accuracy in documentation and revision control.
