Systems Engineer Intern at Leidos

This position is for an internship within the Engineering and Integration Department as part of the Missiles & Aviation Solutions in the Missiles & Aviation Solutions Division provide solutions to complex technical problems involving modeling and simulation aerodynamics design guidance and control software integrated vehicle design and system integration.The engineering intern in this position will work closely with full-time engineers to complete a technical project involving systems engineering concepts for a flight vehicle being designed by Leidos - Dynetics.Primary Responsibilities. Responsibilities may include the following:Developing tailored Systems Engineering artifacts derived from customer needs for product developmentInterface with program management and design engineers to support systems engineering needs including modeling system behavior defining system architecture dictating system interfaces performing requirements verification developing and executing test plans.Flight system design activities outside of Systems Engineering such as avionics software and hardware designBasic Qualifications. Familiarity with Systems Engineering-based processesHands-on work in developing documenting and executing test processes and proceduresCandidate must possess strong technical communication skills and an ability to work both independently and in collaborative team environments.Candidates must be a resident of North Alabama area or willing to temporarily relocate in order to work on-site at the Huntsville AL office.Candidates must be a student pursuing a degree in Systems Engineering Software Engineering Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited school with a minimum GPA of 3.0.Candidate must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance with Leidos.Preferred Qualifications. Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) toolsFlight systems & understanding of flight principlesHardware-in-the-loop integration testing and test planning in a real-time environmentFamiliarity with software development integration and testIf youre looking for comfort keep scrolling.
