Purpose & Responsibilities of Position:

The Supply Planner Intern will gain hands-on experience within the Supply Chain Planning organization. This role offers exposure to real supply planning processes such as demand/supply balancing, inventory optimization, material flow, and coordination with manufacturing operations. The intern will support planners by analyzing data, helping maintain planning tools, and contributing to supply chain efficiency initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in gathering, organizing, and analyzing supply chain data related to demand forecasts, production plans, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of supply planning models, dashboards, and reports (e.g., demand vs. supply alignment, inventory status, production schedules).
  • Participate in planning meetings to understand constraints, risks, and mitigation strategies across manufacturing and distribution.
  • Help monitor material availability, identify potential shortages, and contribute to corrective action recommendations.
  • Apply basic supply chain and Lean concepts to improve planning processes and data accuracy.
  • Collaborate crossfunctionally with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and quality teams to support smooth material flow and ontime product availability.
  • Assist with documentation of standard planning procedures and best practices.

  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related scientific field (Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain preferred), as a rising junior or senior; OR currently accepted or enrolled in a Master's or PhD program.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Familiarity and comfort with Excel (including working with Macros and pivot tables), Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Interest in process improvement, operational efficiency, and project management.
