Internal Medicine Physician - NocturnistRome, New YorkPosition OverviewA well-established, community-focused hospital in Rome, NY is seeking a full-time Internal Medicine physician (Board Certified or Board Eligible) to join its Hospitalist team as a Nocturnist. This role offers a manageable census, strong subspecialty support, and a stable 7-on/7-off schedule.Clinical ResponsibilitiesManage 5-10 inpatients per nightPerform admissions from ED and direct admitsComplete full histories, physicals, and diagnostic assessmentsDocument in Paragon EMRManage acute medical issues, including patients in an open ICU24/7 intensivist consult supportCollaborate with nursing, specialists, case management, and ancillary teamsCoordinate discharges and ensure safe transition plansParticipate in interdisciplinary rounds and handoffsEngage in quality improvement, performance, and safety initiativesMaintain compliance with hospital policies and documentation standardsMentor residents, students, or APPs as applicableUse evidence-based medicine and demonstrate strong communication skillsAttend departmental meetings, training, and CME activitiesQualificationsBoard Certified or Board Eligible Internal MedicineNew grads accepted if BE within 1 year1 year experience preferred, not requiredNot accepting:Locums candidatesVisa candidates1099 candidatesScheduleShifts: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AMRotation: 7 days on / 7 days offWeekends: Every other weekend within the rotationCall Requirements: NoneCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experience, plus:$15,000 starting bonusProductivity & quality bonusesMedical, dental, and vision insuranceMalpractice with tail coverageGenerous PTO5 CME days + annual CME allowance403(b) with employer matchShort- & long-term disabilityLife insurance & Employee Assistance ProgramFSA and HSA optionsCareer advancement opportunitiesEmployer qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)Interested?RecruitWell can arrange a call with the client to discuss this Nocturnist opportunity in more detail.
