Please be aware that failure to attach the letter of interest may result in your application being marked incomplete.DutiesWhat youll do:The Acting Energy Section Manager will collaborate with the current Energy Planning Unit A Section Manager and oversee the daily activities of Unit A staff. This position provides leadership and supports employee development by ensuring staff have the guidance and resources needed to produce clear concise timely and effective recommendations and deliverables. Key responsibilities include preparing staff for public presentations mentoring junior employees leading teams and managing projects.The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills lead by example and show fairness composure and objectivity. A commitment to high professional standards critically thinking and respectful constructive engagement with others is essential.The successful incumbent will be expected to maintain their current job duties in addition to the listed Acting Energy Section Manager duties.Additional duties include but are not limited to the following:Facilitates round-robin discussions during Energy Planning team check-insLeads weekly unit meetingsCoordinates and oversees DEI-related activities and discussionsMonitors staff professional development and growthProvides coaching and mentoring to employeesAdministers timesheets for all unit employeesManages and approves leave requestsParticipates in Extended Leadership Team (ELT) meetings and shares relevant information with the Energy Planning Unit A ManagerProcesses paperwork for approved training requests (e.g. Activity and Travel Request Forms)Updates monthly reportsOversees the day-to-day administrative functions of the unitQualificationsRequired Knowledge Skills and AbilitiesBachelors degree or higher involving major study in science or engineering economics financial accounting business administration or other field directly relevant to electric and gas utility rare situations an individual without the requisite degree may qualify by demonstrating knowledge and abilities equivalent to the degree that have been attained through a combination of work experience and education.Five years of experience performing professional level research and analysis with an institution primarily engaged in regulatory matters or energy utility business operations. (An advanced degree in a field directly applicable to public utility regulation will substitute for one year of the desired qualifications).Demonstrated experience in leading large complex teams or projects either in a supervisory or non-supervisory capacity.Knowledge Skills and AbilitiesExpertise in Regulatory Theory and Ratemaking Standards and Policy - Has extensive knowledge of applicable State and federal laws Commission rules regulations policies standards and precedents regulatory theory and principles and the economic framework in which regulated companies operate. Has a demonstrated ability to develop positions and recommendations in accordance with relevant legal precedent and policy standards.
