Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The mission of Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) is to provide high speed low latency and secure broadband access for United States and global government customers using Amazon Leos satellite network.We have an immediate opening for an International Trade Lead to support the Amazon Leo for Government team focusing on U.S. Government customers such as NASA DoD and National Security in addition to global government customers. As the International Trade Lead you will support the administration of global trade operations by assisting with import and export compliance activities including adherence to the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and maintenance of SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) data and processes.You will work in a collaborative analytical and fast-paced environment and must be comfortable interacting with cross-functional teams. The candidate must think big while diving deep build and earn trust with internal and external customers and be passionate about delivering high-quality results. The ideal candidate will have experience with custom operations classifications licensing and SAP GTS.10037Key job responsibilitiesSupport implementation and maintenance of import and export compliance procedures in accordance with the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requirementsAssist with classification of hardware software and technical data under the U.S. Munitions List (USML) Commerce Control List (CCL) and Harmonized System (HS)Review track and manage export/import requests and ticketsPrepare and submit license applications or confirm applicability of license exceptionsMonitor export authorizations to ensure compliance with approved terms including value limits quantities conditions and expiration datesCoordinate with customs brokers freight forwarders and internal logistics teams to support accurate and timely import and export filings and assist in resolving any customs or export clearance issuesMaintain accurate compliance records and assist with data entry and system updates in SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) and other compliance systemsAssist in developing and maintaining key performance metrics and compliance reports to measure program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.Contribute to trade compliance awareness initiatives by preparing training materials and supporting communication of regulatory requirements across the organization.Security clearance: This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance of TS/SCI.- Bachelors degree in business political science international studies supply chain management or related field; or equivalent combination of education certifications and relevant work experience- 2 years of experience in export/import compliance logistics or supply chain- Foundational understanding of U.S. export/import regulations including the EAR ITAR and CBP requirements- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment- Effective written and verbal communication skills- Prior work experience supporting trade compliance logistics or supply chain operations in the aerospace defense or high-technology industries- Working knowledge of EAR ITAR and CBP regulations including familiarity with export licensing and jurisdiction/classification processes- Experience using SAP GTS or other global trade management systems- Experience with government systems such as SNAP-R DECCS or ACE for license applications and shipment reporting- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify potential compliance risks and escalate appropriately- A curious self-starter with a proven track record of diving into unknown territory learning new concepts and pushing your comfort zone- Certified Export Compliance Professional or similar trade compliance certificationAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status disability or other legally protected status.Los Angeles County applicants: Job duties for this position include: work safely and cooperatively with other employees supervisors and staff; adhere to standards of excellence despite stressful conditions; communicate effectively and respectfully with employees supervisors and staff to ensure exceptional customer service; and follow all federal state and local laws and Company policies. The base pay for this position ranges from $91800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $196300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
