This is more than a job-its an opportunity to participate in a key-team role dedicated to protecting the environment supporting public health and ensuring reliable wastewater service for our community.About the Role:King County Wastewater Treatment Division inventory purchasing specialists manages over 15000 unique parts in our secured stores to be available when requested and provides procurement services to the trades (crafts) for all other non-inventory items. This position is responsible for overall material readiness of all equipment at the Renton WWTP through the procurement and dispensing of critical spare parts and materials. This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible.Union Representation:This position is represented by S.E.I.U. 925 (Wastewater Treatment Division).Physical Requirement:Incumbents perform field work at a wastewater treatment plant and associated facilities and are required to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 60 pounds use ladders and there is exposure to hazardous chemicals and noxious odors and high noise levels. Workplace Exposure:All weather conditions in an industrial wastewater environment. Will be around chemicals loud noise and biohazards.
