Inventory SpecialistJob SummaryManage and maintain accurate inventory records while ensuring optimal stock levels and supporting efficient warehouse operations. This role involves tracking inventory movement conducting audits implementing processes to minimize discrepancies and maximizing operational efficiency through data analysis and process improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management & ControlMonitor daily inventory levels and track product movement throughout the facilityMaintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials using inventory management systemsConduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories to ensure accuracy between physical stock and system recordsIdentify and investigate inventory discrepancies working with teams to resolve issues promptlyData Analysis & ReportingGenerate daily weekly and monthly inventory reports for management reviewAnalyze inventory trends turnover rates and identify slow-moving or obsolete stockMaintain accurate documentation of all inventory transactions and adjustmentsPrepare variance reports and recommend corrective actions for inventory losses or gainsProcess Improvement & OptimizationCollaborate with site teams to optimize inventory processes and proceduresRecommend improvements to storage methods layout efficiency and inventory tracking systemsSupport implementation of new inventory management technologies or software systemsEnsure compliance with company policies and industry standards for inventory controlCoordination & CommunicationWork closely with site teams to forecast inventory needs and prevent stockoutsCommunicate inventory status and concerns to management and relevant departmentsAssist with vendor coordination regarding deliveries returns and quality issuesSupport cross-training initiatives and provide backup coverage for related functionsRequired Qualifications:Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required2-3 years experience in inventory management warehouse operations or supply chain rolesTechnical SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables VLOOKUP functions and data analysisExperience with barcode scanning systems and inventory tracking technologiesHigh attention to detail and accuracy in record-keepingBasic computer skills for inventory management systems navigationCore CompetenciesExcellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyStrong problem-solving abilities with capacity to work independentlyEffective written and verbal communication skillsAnalytical thinking for trend identification and process improvementPhysical RequirementsPhysical ability to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to work in warehouse environments for extended periodsCapability to perform cycle counts requiring standing walking and reachingPreferred QualificationsAssociate degree in Business Logistics Supply Chain Management or related fieldExperience with specific inventory management software (SAP Oracle WMS Manhattan Associates)Certification in inventory management or supply chain (APICS SCM etc.)Experience in manufacturing distribution or retail inventory environmentsKnowledge of lean inventory principles and Six Sigma methodologiesForklift operation certificationExperience with RFID technology and advanced tracking systemsPrevious supervisory or training experienceKnowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for inventory managementExperience with vendor management and purchase order processesWorking ConditionsThis position operates in warehouse and office environments with exposure to varying temperatures inventory systems and material handling equipment. May require occasional overtime during inventory cycles or peak operational periods.
