You will play a critical role in establishing global craftsmanship targets driving design and process excellence and ensuring our vehicles meet and exceed perceived quality expectations from concept to launch.ResponsibilitiesWhat youll do... Act as the primary steward for both Crafted Quality and Fit & Finish driving their consistent integration across all strategic initiatives processes and documentation. Facilitate engagement and collaboration among a global group of Craftsmanship experts to drive process consistency and integrate their diverse input. Maintain all core craftsmanship documentation ensuring its accuracy relevance and accessibility for the global team. Author and own Craftsmanship requirements; facilitate and engage the broader engineering core team to define new or updated requirements utilizing FEDE. Develop and maintain the standardized processes and tools used to conduct the Ingredients and Crafted Quality audits. Modernize processes establish new ones and drive efficiencies by leveraging contemporary methodologies and the latest software applications. Utilize AI and online sources to gather market intelligence on customer sentiment specifically analyzing expectations for perceived quality and preferences for trim materials. Act as a key resource for the team guiding them on craftsmanship processes and providing expert support to identify and resolve error states. Coordinate comprehensive benchmarking activities and analyze competitive data to inform decision-making on appearance-related issues and opportunities.QualificationsYoull have...Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Electrical Industrial or related field) or a relevant technical discipline.5 years of experience in automotive quality design or manufacturing with a focus on craftsmanship fit/finish or perceived quality.Even better you may have...Masters degree in Engineering or Business Administration.Proven track record of driving significant improvements in vehicle craftsmanship and perceived quality.Strong understanding of vehicle development processes from concept to launch.Understanding of Teamcenter and/or 3DX/or CAD environments.Understanding of dimensional management GDT (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and statistical analysis.Familiarity with virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) tools for design evaluation.Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across diverse global teams and all levels of management.Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional problem-solving initiatives.Understanding of benchmarking and competitive analysis in the automotive industry.You may not check every box or your experience may look a little different from what weve outlined but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company we encourage you to apply!As an established global company we offer the benefit of choice.
