You will perform fabrication and repairs to metal components, including structural aluminum die castings, to ensure high-quality production of energy storage units.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate weld fixtures, MIG (GMAW), or spot-welding equipment.
- Read blueprints and specifications to lay out, position, and secure steel or aluminum parts for assembly.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production die sets.
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to move large metal components.
- Adhere to strict safety standards, including PPE usage and working with molten metal.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in production environments, specifically with high-speed die-sets or heavy fabrication.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in GMAW/MIG welding, oxy/acetylene torch cutting, and plasma cutting. Ability to interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for 12 hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in varied weather conditions (if outdoor fabrication).
Work Environment & Schedule
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts are standard (6am-6pm or 6pm-6am), often in a 3 days on / 4 days off or similar rotating structure.
- Culture: Fast-paced production environment with high reliance on teamwork and safety.
