You will leverage innovative design and process development capabilities to accelerate the delivery of best-in-class medicines to patients globally.What You Will AchieveIn this role you will:Lead the development of process technology for producing active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) from small-scale synthesis to commercial synthetic routesCollaborate with manufacturing specialists to support technology transfer to Pfizer manufacturing sites and third-party facilitiesDrive the creation of economical efficient and safe active drug materials and contribute to and influence goals at the work group/project team levelManage time effectively develop short-term work plans and apply technical skills and knowledge proactively in projectsMake decisions to resolve moderately complex problems receive instructions on complex problems and work under limited supervision with periodic reviewDevelop scientific activities/projects to support team goals and provide mentoring within the work group/project teamDetermine and understand metabolic or reaction pathways genetically engineer those pathways for improved culture performance and participate in brainstorming sessions for innovative enzyme engineering ideasServe as the primary Technical Expert for manufacturing methods perform scientific laboratory studies and make recommendations to improve manufacturing reliability cost safety compliance and environmental performanceRemain current with chemistry literature select and apply new and existing process technologies and assist with the definition and tracking of document management plansImprove production strains by molecular biological methods and traditional mutagenesis and screening communicate progress to management and stakeholders and take personal responsibility for exceeding goals and delivering resultsHere Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)Applicant must have a bachelors degree with at least 4 years ofexperience; OR a masters degree with at least 2 years of experience; OR a PhD with 0 years of experience; OR as associates degree with 8 years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experienceDemonstrated ability to interpret analytical data to inform synthetic experimental plansProficient in modern synthetic methodologies including asymmetric synthesis green chemistry catalysis and physical organic chemistry related to reaction mechanismsStrong initiative and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience in biologics purification gained through industrial or academic research development technical operations and manufacturingProficiency with electronic tools for documentationBonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)Masters degree or PhD with over 7 years of relevant experience particularly in synthetic organic chemistry within a research laboratory settingExpertise in process research and developmentHands-on experience in optimizing characterizing and scaling up process stepsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentExcellent organizational and project management skillsExperience in technology transfer to manufacturing facilitiesAbility to stay current with scientific literature and advancements in the fieldOTHER JOB DETAILSLast Date to Apply for Job: 12/9/25The annual base salary for this position ranges from $90900.00 to $151500.00. In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
