IT Support Specialist II at PGT Innovations (Part of MITER Brands) – Venice, FL

The IT Support Specialist II is responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of in‑house computing resources that support end‑user functions. This includes installing, configuring, administering, and fine‑tuning operating systems and components across the supported facility in a timely and efficient manner.

You will use strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving skills to identify, communicate, and resolve issues—maximizing the value of the company’s IT systems investments. This role provides on‑site support for several facilities within central Pennsylvania, and scheduled working hours may vary depending on support needs.

💰 Compensation & Schedule

  • Compensation Range: $71, – $88, (depending on experience)
  • Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 – 5:00

    Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, maintain and resolve hardware and software problems, including end user PCs, printers, PC controlled manufacturing equipment, applications, etc.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and deploy production facility scanning and printing equipment.
  • Image, configure, and deploy new computer hardware.
  • Use helpdesk software to track information, status, and resolution for all requests.
  • Use project management software to update projects and tasks.
  • Maintain inventory of location specific business critical IT hardware and supplies.
  • Ensure location specific server backup processes successfully complete.
  • Maintain location specific Active Directory information.
  • Coordinate and participate in key IT process improvements.
  • Provide support for manufacturing industry specific software applications.
  • Participate in the design and review of new systems and application deployments for workstations.
  • Ensure that workstations comply with established policies, security standards, licensing agreements, and configuration guidelines.
  • Conduct research on hardware and software in support of procurement and system development efforts.
  • Coordinate and participate in deployment of service packs, hot fixes, system updates, and vendor-supplied patches according to best practices.
  • Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, security standards, and interface specifications.
  • Take an active role in cross-departmental projects when needed or tasked.
  • Ability to conduct and facilitate training sessions, presentations, and meetings for a project when needed or tasked.
  • Participate in location specific Kaizen, TPM and A3 events as requested.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships both inside and outside of the company for vital success of any project.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution.
  • General Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Technical certificate or degree in Information Technology and Two years direct work experience in the Information Technology field.
  • Operating systems experience with Windows 10/11, Server 2016/2019/2022.
  • Technically competent with various software programs including Microsoft products, such as 365, Office Suite, SharePoint, SQL, MECM, and Active Directory.
  • Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies including VPN, web filtering tools, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
  • Ability to research, learn, understand, and apply innovative technologies.
  • Ability to communicate and elicit cooperation of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
  • Extensive walking on concrete and production facility environment.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects.
  • Physically able to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Travel will be required for the purpose of supporting multiple facilities, meeting with vendors, and off-site project deployment, including air travel.
