Job Description

DescriptionInstalls tests and troubleshoots new and existing data and telephone circuits to include category cabling (cat 5 and cat 6) fiber optic cabling and outside plant cabling for wireless access points cameras end user equipment servers and other network related equipment.Will use specialized testing equipment to troubleshoot and diagnose network fiber optic and telephone troublesEvaluate diagnose troubleshoot and repair as necessary wireless access points cameras and other network related equipment.Will work with and monitor the work of outside telecommunication contractorsPrepares documentation in a variety of electronic and written formats (daily paperwork log time and material sheets and circuit activation sheets).ResponsibilitiesCompletion of work orders for moves adds and changes of structured cabling VOIP cameras and wireless access points.IT technical support for athletic events.24/7 on call in a staff rotation.Prepares documentation in a variety of electronic and written formats (ex:daily paperwork log time and material sheets circuit activation sheets.)Evaluate diagnose troubleshoot and repair as necessary including wireless access points cameras and other network related equipment.QualificationsRequired QualificationsEducation:High school diploma or GEDExperience:2 years of structured cabling experience.Knowledge Skills Abilities:Ability to climb ladders and be at heights up to 50Ability to lift up to 50lbsAbility to stand kneel crawl and walk for extended periods of time.Ability to work in all weather conditionsAbility to use hand tools including power tools and specialty toolsAbility to differentiate between colorsAbility to organize and fill out documentation on a daily basisAbility to work overtime as needed including nights holidays and weekendsAbility to work a rotating 24-7 on-call scheduleExcellent customer service skillsAbility to understand and follow written and oral instructions policies and proceduresAbility to read blueprints and shop drawingsAbility to work both independently and with a teamAbility to stay on task with little to no supervisionKnowledge of BICSI NEC TIA/ANSI and IEEE standards and codesWork LocationLocation: Knoxville TNOnsiteCompensation and BenefitsUT market range: MR07Anticipated hiring range: $37147.80 - $50000.Find more information on the UT Market Range structurehereFind more information on UT BenefitshereApplication InstructionsTo express interest please submit an application with the noted below attachments.ResumeCover LetterList of 3 Professional ReferencesRequired Experience:IC Key Skills IT Experience,Network Administration,Active Directory,LAN,Computer Networking,Computer Skills,Windows,Remote Access Software,Help Desk,IT Support,Operating Systems,Troubleshooting Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1 Monthly Salary Salary: 37147 - 50000
