We design deploy andoperatemission-critical wireless networks that power the countrys largest trade shows conventions and live events.Position SummaryThe Wireless Architect is the companys technical authority on all things wireless. This role owns the end-to-end design validation and optimization of high-density high-reliability Wi-Fi and private wireless solutions for convention centers arenas temporary event overlays and hospitality venues. You will translate demanding client and event requirements into predictable scalable and secure wireless architectures that perform flawlessly under extreme user density and interference conditions.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadpredictive modeling on-site RF surveys and post-deployment validation for large-venue and temporary event Wi-Fi deployments ( concurrent users typical).Design and document enterprise-grade wireless architectures usingEkahau Cisco Aruba Ruckus Juniper Mist and related ecosystems.Specify andvalidateaccess-point placement channel/reuse plans RF power settings roaming behavior capacity planning and spectrum management.Architect solutionsincorporating802.11ax/ac/ax (Wi-Fi 6/6E/7) private LTE/5G DAS integration and IoT/low-power wireless technologies as needed.Collaborate with sales and project teams to scope propose and defend wireless solutions in RFPs and client presentations.Perform interference analysis and mitigation in challenging RF environments (steel/concrete structures temporary overlays outdoor expositions).Establish andmaintainSmart Citys wireless design standards reusablecomponentlibraries and best-practice documentation.Serve as Tier-4escalationpointfor wireless-related incidents during live events.Evaluate emerging wireless technologies (Wi-Fi 7 6 GHz expansionOpenRoaming automated RF management AI-driven optimization) and pilot integrations into our service catalog.Mentor network engineers and wirelessadministrators;conduct internal training on advanced wireless topics.Required QualificationsBachelors degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering Information Technology or equivalent experience (Mastersdegreea plus).7 years of hands-on wireless network design and implementation experience.Expert-level knowledge of 802.11 standards RF propagation antenna theory and high-density wireless design principles.Proventrack recorddesigning and supporting wireless networks in convention centers stadiums arenas trade shows or similar large public venues.ProficiencywithEkahauSite Survey (ECSE certification strongly preferred) Hamina or equivalent predictive design tools.Current wireless certificationsrequired(at least two of the following):CWNP-CWDP / CWAP / CWSPEkahauECSE-Design /Troubleshooting /AdvancedCisco CCNP Wireless WLCOR&WLSI /WLSDArubaNetworkor Juniper MistProfessionalcertificationsDeep experience with at least two major enterprise wireless platforms (Cisco Aruba/HPE Ruckus/CommScope Juniper Mist).Strong understanding of wired backbone requirements that support high-performance wireless (multigigabit switching QoS overlay tunneling).Excellent diagramming skills (VisioLucidchart) and ability to produce client-ready deliverables.Outstanding communication skillsable to explain complex RF concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executives.Preferred Additional SkillsExperience with temporary/event-overlay wireless networks (Super Bowl CES Comic-Con etc.)Familiarity with distributed antenna systems (DAS) and in-building cellular integrationBackground in network automation/scripting (Python Ansible) for wireless managementKnowledge of cybersecurity as applied to wireless (WPA3-Enterprise rogue AP detection 802.1X)Company BenefitsMedical and Prescription DrugDentalVisionBasic Life/AD&DVoluntary LifeShort-Term DisabilityLong-Term DisabilityFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Retirement 401(K)Life Assistance Program (LAP)Wellness ProgramsTuition ReimbursementPaid Time OffSupplementalAccident Critical Illness and Hospital CareEqual Opportunity StatementSmart City Networks is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
