Job Description

Starting Hourly Wage: $26.00Key Responsibilities:Exhibit promote and enforce all company safety requirements and expectations.Reliably control the normal operations/start-up sequences/shut-down processes for selected area of HDF Plant production as described below.Cross-training for proficiency Press Operations Energy Plant Dryer/Refiner Operations Resin Operations and Finishing (sanding/sawing) Operations.Operate a highly automated plant to ensure HDF production schedules are met.Continuously monitor the status and operating conditions of the selected position in the HDF Plant.Support HDF Plant maintenance operations.Respond to any plant operational emergency including potential fire threats. QC testing of board mechanical properties and sanding line.Strong mechanical system and process interaction aptitudes.Adhere to the Production ScheduleBasic math skills with the ability to use various metric system measurement devices including micrometer tape measure etc.Troubleshooting and analyzing as they relate to plant operating systems.Managing housekeepingexpectations at all times.Conducting daily activities in a manner which promotes plant reliability and productivity.Performing duties in accordance with all company policies procedures and standards of quality.Comfortable with basic calculations and measurements of productivity/efficiency.Model workplace expectations regarding control room culture and plant operational discipline.Professional Experience:Two years of experience in production plant.Strong computer/HMI skills required for operation of automated equipment and systems.Strong work ethic sense of duty and the ability to mentor/cross-train team members.Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.A sense of urgency a capacity for accurate decisions and the ability to exercise sound judgement in a demanding work environment.Education and specialized skills profile:High school graduate or equivalent required.Technical college degree preferred.Excellent verbal communication skills.Prefer a minimum of 3 years prior experience as an Assistant Production Operator in a manufacturing or industrial environment (preferably in an MDF plant or composite panel industry).Strong computer/HMI skills required for operation of automated equipment and systems.Ability to read comprehend and understand P&IDs operating manuals vendor drawings and technical documentation.Environment and Behavioral profile:The Production Operator will be subjected to all environmental elements such as exposure to high/low temperatures sun/rain confined spaces etc.Should have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment making decisions quickly with clear consistent communication.Team player who collaborates well with other company employees and associates; problem solver who is resilient and reliable.Candidate will be exposed to loud noise that may exceed 87 decibels.Candidate must be able to complete task under extreme hot climate temperatures internally on the shopfloor which can exceed 110 degrees F.The Production Operator will be subjected to all environmental elements such as exposure to high/low temperatures sun/rain confined spaces etc.The Production Operator must be able to complete daily tasks under little to no supervision should have the ability to multitask in a challenging environment making decisions quickly with clear consistent communicationLinguistic Profile:The MDF Department embraces the diversity of languages but most if not all communication verbally and written is preferred in English to successfully complete the appropriate scope of work.Mobility and Physical Requirement profile:Work location is Barnwell. This job operates in a manufacturing environment.While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit walk climb stairs talk or hear; use hands/fingers to manage or operate objects tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms.The employee must occasionally climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl.Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts in high precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions ambient air temperature extremes combustible dust fumes or airborne particles chemicals risk of electrical shock and vibration.Must be able to work at elevated heights as well as confined spaces.This is a full-time position and hours of work are a rotating shift 7:00 a.m. to 7 p.m.Availability to work rotating shift schedules overtime nights holidays and weekends plus respond to occasional off-hours callouts to ensure plant reliability of operations.Key relationships (internal and external stakeholder)Internal: MDF Shipping AdministrativeExternal: Contractors Vendors ConsultantsEEO:Swiss Krono USA is an equal opportunity employer.
