JV Boys GolfHead CoachNorthern HighReports To: Athletic Director and PrincipalSalary: As described in the supplemental contract of the Master Agreement between the Board of Education Forest Hills Public Schools and Forest Hills NEA-MEA District Association.Job Summary: To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship and an increased level of self-esteem.Preferred Qualifications: Excellent communication skills with parents and students requiredGolf and/or coaching experienceFirst aid and CPR knowledgeEssential Job Functions: Develop and communicate clear and specific goals for the team and individual playersDevelop the skills of players specific to golfEstablish a team that demonstrates good sportsmanshipMaintain open and honest communication with students parents other coaches and Athletic DirectorCreate an environment in which athletes can gain self-esteem and develop a positive self-imageDemonstrate understanding of leadership best practices specific to the sport and age groupSupport student academic expectations responsibilities and achievementsDevelop the knowledge and understanding of Forest Hills Public Schools policies and procedures as it applies to athleticsPromote and enforce the student-athlete code of conductConnect athletic experiences with life experiencesProvide an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration among coaches and playersModel good sportsmanship alwaysCreate and maintain a safe and healthy environment for student athletesAbility to commit to a flexible time commitmentConsistent and reliable attendancePerform other duties as assignedPhysical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand walk sit use hands to finger handle or feel reach with hands and arms climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl talk hear (in a quiet or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and ability to adjust/focus.Work Environment:The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Work may be performed indoors and/or outdoors.
