POSITION: Anticipated MS or HS TeacherLOCATION: Kenowa Hills Middle School or High SchoolSTART DATE/CALENDAR: 1/12/2025 per the 2025-26 District CalendarSALARY/BENEFITS: As outlined in KHEA Collective Bargaining AgreementSUMMARY: Kenowa Hills Middle and High Schools serve students in grades 612 with a strong commitment to academic excellence personal development and community engagement. As part of the Kenowa Hills Public Schools district we emphasize hands-on learning critical thinking and meaningful real-world experiences. We are anticipating an openingat Kenowa Hills Middle or High School.QUALIFICATIONS:We are looking for someone who is passionate about inspiring young minds and engaging students in hands-on interdisciplinary and interactive learning.Must hold a valid State of Michigan teaching certificate with the ability to teach at the middle or school level with at least one of the following endorsements (or the ability to demonstratean appropriate endorsement depending on vacancy type):English Language Arts (BX)Social Studies (RX)English (BA)Mathematics (EX)Science (DX or DI)Spanish (FF)Successful experience with project-based learning Restorative Practices and Capturing Kids Hearts preferred.Knowledge of standards-basedpersonalized instructional practices based on formative assessments preferred.Required knowledge of skills and abilities related to diversity and cultural competence.Knowledge of own competence in the area of diversity and how this influences own behavior and a desire to learn about others identities.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepare course objectives and outlines for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of state and school.Establish and enforce classroom management procedures consistent with building and district protocol.Observe and evaluate student performance behavior social development and physical health and report to parents as needed and required.Prepare materials and classroom for class activities.Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students varying needs and interests.Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction demonstration and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe question and investigate.Use a variety of media and methods in order to motivate students and best utilize available time for instruction.Establish clear objectives for all lessons units and projects and communicate those objectives to the students.Assign and grade classwork and homework adhering to building and district protocols.Prepare administer and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students progress.Collaborate with other professional staff to enhance instruction and adapt and modify curriculum tomeet individual student needs.Participate in the development and revision of goals and performance objectives for students course content and learning activities evaluate procedures and instructional materials.Keep attendance and grade records as required by the district.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
