Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: New Day Recovery is a premier treatment center in Niles, Ohio, dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to individuals on their journey to recovery. We are currently seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant for our inpatient facility. At New Day Recovery, we believe that the first impression is crucial, and our clients often notice the cleanliness of our facilities wand the enticing aroma of our delicious food. Our kitchen and support staff play a vital role in our clients' success by preparing nutritious and appetizing meals that help ease withdrawal symptoms and bring joy without the use of drugs or alcohol.We would love to talk to you and hope you will apply! This is a temporary position, with flexible days and hours from 11:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Please note that this role requires working on holidays and weekends, as we are open 365 days a year.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Assist in food inventory and control to assure health and safety standards associated with food preparation and servingAssist with the preparation of meals and snacks in accordance with recipesServe meals and prepare snacks as requiredEnsure cleanliness of kitchen, dining, beverage, food service areas, and dining areasMaintain kitchen, dietary, and service areas in an uncluttered, safe mannerREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:High School diploma/GED equivalent and 18 years of agePrevious work experience in food service preferablePhysical abilities to perform repetitive motions such as bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, climbing, and lifting of objects up to 25 lbs.ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES:Demonstrate the ability to effectively function as a New Day Recovery team member and relate with empathy and sensitivity to staff, clients, and the communityDemonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently in an efficient mannerDemonstrate the ability to follow directions as well as work with minimal supervisionDemonstrate the ability to operate and maintain equipment utilized within the kitchen departmentAbility to communicate effectively with staff, management, and clients to maintain a customer-oriented environmentPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Physical demands described are representative of those that must be routinely met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this positionVisual acuity to see details of objectsManual dexterity to grasp, move, or manipulate instruments or objectsUtilize muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry objectsPhysical capacity to push, pull, stand, bend, stretch, twist, or reach out for varying degrees of timeWORKING CONDITIONS:Indoor environmentFrequent interaction and contact with othersPotential exposure to household cleanersPotential exposure to bloodborne pathogensEEO / DFWP
