This role is essential to ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality food service for catering events or restaurant operations.Key ResponsibilitiesWash, peel, chop, slice, and portion ingredients according to recipes and menu requirementsPrepare sauces, dressings, garnishes, and other components in advance of serviceAssist chefs in cooking, plating, and packaging dishes for catering orders or eventsMaintain cleanliness and organization of prep stations, tools, and storage areasFollow all food safety and sanitation procedures, including proper labeling and storage of ingredientsHelp receive and store deliveries; check for quality and freshnessMonitor inventory levels and report shortages to the Head Chef or Kitchen ManagerWork efficiently to meet preparation timelines for daily production and eventsSupport team members during busy service times and assist with cleanup as needed.QualificationsPrevious experience as a Prep Cook, Line Cook, or Kitchen Assistant preferredKnowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to food qualityAbility to follow recipes and directions accuratelyTeam player with a positive attitude and good communication skillsFood Handlers Certificate (as required by local health regulations)Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbsWork ScheduleFlexible schedule based on kitchen or event needs; may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.Pay RangeCompetitive hourly rate based on experience.
