Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCompany: Bourbon & Baker Position: Cook/ DishwasherJob Classification: Part-Time/variable hour and Full-Time positions are availableBenefits Eligibility: Full-Time~ Eligible. Part-Time~ Not Eligible. Reports To: Restaurant’s Executive Chef and/or Sous ChefWork Schedule: Varied, flexible, evenings and weekends required. Full-Time positions work 35-40 hours per week. Part-Time positions hours are based on availability.Summary of Role: - Line Cooks work throughout a lunch or dinner service to properly and efficiently prepare all dishes ordered. This is done while professionally communicating with colleagues, maintaining station cleanliness, and following food safety practices. - Dishwashers are vital members of our kitchen team who ensure the cleanliness and organization of all tableware, pots, pans, cooking and food prep tools, etc. Dishwashers perform physically demanding work in a hot, humid work environment. What’s in it for you (Full-Time Role):Hourly pay rate between $11-$17 per hour based on skill set or experienceHealth and Dental Insurance offered with company share Holiday Pay for company observed holidaysLife InsuranceEligible for Length of Service Pay Increase ProgramEligible for Referral Bonus ProgramShift Meals for 7+ hour shifts30% Discount at all company locationsMentor-guided career & personal development opportunity, via our 1-1 program Food & beverage training from industry experts Potential access to industry certificationsWhat’s in it for you (Part-Time Role): Position pay rate range between $11-$17 per hour based on experience.Flexible work scheduleEligible for Length of Service Pay Increase ProgramShift Meals for 7+ hour shiftsEligible for Referral Bonus Program30% discount at all company locationsCompany observed holidays off workFood & beverage training from industry expertsMentor-guided career & personal development opportunity, via our 1-1 programOpportunity for career advancement within our companyKey Responsibilities, Cook: Follow food safety and cleanliness procedures at all timesKeep your assigned station and equipment clean, sanitized and orderly during your shiftSafely operate your assigned station and equipment; report any functional or mechanical problems to a manager immediately Execute daily food prep in an accurate & timely manner according to recipes and directionSet up and stock assigned line station accurately and efficientlyRemain in your station preparing all food ordered throughout assigned shiftConstant attention to food quality, preparation quality, and plate presentation.Maintain ticket time consistency Communicate professionally & efficiently with colleagues Perform all side duties and cleaning duties as assignedPerform additional duties related to kitchen operations as assigned by managersWhat we need from you, Cook:1-2 years of previous high-volume restaurant kitchen experience preferredAbility and willingness to move quickly, efficiently and safely through the kitchenStrong work ethic to execute demanding physical and mental work under pressurePositive attitude that remains consistent under pressureKey Responsibilities, Dishwasher: Scrub and spray, send through dish machine and unload all dirty dishes Operate the spray gun which shoots hot water at a high velocityLearn the storage place & put away all clean tableware, pots, pans, cooking tools, etcKeep the dish room and equipment clean and orderly during your shift Safely operate the dish machine; report any functional or mechanical problems to a manager immediately Monitor dish machine temperature and chemical levels to ensure a sanitary wash cycleFollow food safety and cleanliness procedures at all times Handle all wares and equipment safely and carefully to prevent breakage Perform all side duties and cleaning duties as assignedPerform additional duties related to kitchen operations as assigned by managersWhat we need from you, Dishwasher:Ability to move quickly, efficiently and safely through the kitchenStrong work ethic to execute demanding work under pressurePositive attitude that remains consistent under pressurePhysical Demands: Ability to be on your feet & standing up to 8 hoursAbility to reach & lift above the head as needed Ability to lift, carry and move items up to 60 lbs Ability to squat, bend, and twist your body as neededAbility to function in a work environment that is hot, loud, in tight spaces with colleagues, contains wet and slippery surfacesAbility to work near and interact with hot cooking surfaces and equipment including but not limited to the grill, gas burners, fryers, ovens, toasters, etc
