Your work will include:Program Leadership & Strategic OversightManage and improve statewide certification and licensing programs that ensure safe workplaces across diverse industries.Lead program planning performance monitoring workload evaluation and team development.Promote best practices and adapt operations to meet emerging industries and community needs.Serve as a trusted representative to fire departments industry leaders labor groups and other stakeholders.Regulatory & Policy StewardshipEnsure consistent accurate and compliant application of occupational safety and health rules and statutes.Oversee programs governed by WACs and RCWs related to asbestos high hazard facilities explosives crane operations and more.Provide expert recommendations for DOSH leadership including the Assistant Director and Department Director.Operational Excellence & System ImprovementRefine processes to enhance customer service system usability and program consistency statewide.Translate operational needs into IT system enhancements through user stories and system improvement planning.Lead continuous improvement initiatives that drive efficiency accountability and high-quality service delivery.Financial & Resource ManagementOversee budgets ensuring programs remain within allotments and that financial resources align with program goals.Determine staffing needs manage hiring and development and support a culture of excellence.And much more!Who Were Looking ForA collaborative visionary leader who is:Skilled at managing complex regulatory programsComfortable making strategic decisions with statewide impactAdept at leading and developing diverse teamsAble to build strong stakeholder relationshipsPassionate about improving systems and advancing safetyExcited by work that has a direct impact on public safety and worker well-beingQualificationsREQUIRED:You qualify with one of the following:Option 1Bachelors degree in Business/Public Administration or related field2 years of progressively responsible experience in:Regulatory certification or workplace safety programsProgram or operations managementSupporting or enhancing IT platforms (including user story development)2 years of supervisory or team-lead experienceOption 26 years of experience in regulatory certification safety programs or operations management2 years of supervisory or team-lead experienceStrong proficiency with licensing/certification IT platforms and process improvementAlso RequiredStrong knowledge of occupational safety and health regulationsDemonstrated ability to develop implement and improve processesExcellent communication and leadership skillsDESIRED:Masters degree (MBA MPA Info Systems or related field)5 years working with DOSH certification systems or similar platformsProven success leading change and driving system enhancementsExperience managing enterprise-level process improvement effortsAdvanced knowledge of federal/state occupational safety & health regulationsDemonstrated ability to influence policy and advise senior leadershipReady to Lead Programs That Make a DifferenceJoin a mission-driven team dedicated to protecting Washingtons workers and communities.
