Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: $16 per hourExceptional Childrens (EC) Teacher AssistantDavidson Charter Academy is seeking a Full-Time Exceptional Childrens (EC) Teacher Assistant to join our team!We are looking for a caring, patient, and dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs. The EC Teacher Assistant will work closely with the EC teacher and classroom teachers to provide targeted academic, behavioral, and functional support. The ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, and knowledgeable about special education practices and effective strategies for supporting students with disabilities.ResponsibilitiesProvide instructional support to students with IEPs in both inclusive and pull-out settings.Support individual students or small groups with targeted instruction, remediation, accommodations, or modifications.Assist the EC teacher in preparing, organizing, and adapting instructional materials based on student needs.Ensure students have access to necessary tools, resources, and accommodations throughout the school day.Monitor and document student progress toward academic, behavioral, and IEP goals.Assist with behavior support plans and implement strategies consistently.Maintain accurate records and support compliance with IEP requirements as directed.Collaborate daily with the EC teacher, classroom teachers, and support staff to meet student needs.Supervise students during transitions, in classrooms, and throughout the school environment to ensure safety.Uphold and enforce school policies, expectations, and safety procedures.Perform additional duties as assigned to support students, the EC program, and the school community.QualificationsMinimum of one year of experience in an educational or childcare setting required.High school diploma or GED required; associates or bachelors degree in education or a related field preferred.CPR and First Aid certification preferred.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.Compensation & Benefits *Prorated based on start dateCompensation: $16 per hourAdditional 3% supplement (paid in December and June)Up to 6% Employer 403(b) Contribution Match10 PTO days per year (unused PTO rolls over until maximum accrual is reached)9 Paid HolidaysMedical insurance coverage (employer-paid up to $554.57/month)Employer-funded Long-Term & Short-Term Disability CoverageOne-year contract with renewal contingent upon performance, completion of duties, and available funding.
