We believe in providing our new associates with intensive hands on training and long-term career growth opportunities from within.Lab Assistants contribute to a high-performance team in a fast-paced environment where they are responsible for performing routine lab and general clerical tasks necessary for the daily operation of the laboratory.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:Assigning case numbers to specimens slides and cassettes Assist with specimen grossing including handling measuring labeling and preparing tissue samples for processingDocument and transcribe pathologist dictations during specimen gross examinationMaintain accurate specimen logs and ensure all documentation is complete and compliantSupport the daily operations of the pathology lab including specimen intake organization and storageData entry for labLoad IHC StainersPulling and filing blocks and slides for the labChanging Solutions for processor H&E and IHC stainersSet up IHC stainerOther duties assigned as deemed necessary by management/collaborate with pathologists histotechnicians and other team members to ensure smooth lab flowAssist with maintaining a clean safe and stocked laboratory environmentQualificationsQualifications: Laboratory experience or 24 hours of biology course experience (preferred)Strong general computer skills and proficiency with MSMust be well organized and have the ability to prioritize workAbility to multi-task while maintaining attention to detailThe ability to communicate effectively with staffDependable and proficient time management skillsLicensure/Certifications/EducationCompletion of an associate degree (Required)4-year degree is strongly preferredAt least 1 year of experience working in an lab support position or other closely related experience is strongly preferredPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.The ability to stand for the duration of the 8-hour shift.Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds at times.Full time employees (defined as regularly working at least 30 hours per week) are eligible for the following benefits:Medical Dental & Vision insurance effective 1st of the month after date of startShort-term and long-term disability Voluntary life (employee spouse and child) Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity Effective the 1st of the month following date of hireCompany provided Basic Life/AD&D insurancePaid time offPaid holidaysRetirement Savings accountEmployee discount on cosmetic services and products Key Skills Catering,Apache Commons,Architectural Design,Human Resources Administration,Accident Investigation Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
