Youll be the go-to person for research staff tackling challenges and liaising with AstraZenecas Facility Management team suppliers and scientists to maintain essential technical services. Your independent approach will drive improvements and document progress making a tangible impact on our labs.Accountabilities:Hands-on operational management of a defined set of laboratories providing a single point of contact for laboratory scientists FM and safety teamsNetwork with all lab operation teams scientists and suppliers including organizing supplies planning preventative and scheduled maintenance regimes with minimal impact to daily operations ensuring any FM helpdesk requests are completedWork with suppliers and negotiate fair pricing for equipment/suppliesManage bulk orders and POsOrganize and optimize lab spaces lab benches storage assignments supplies and equipment to ensure labs maintain their operational efficiencyMaintain laboratory consumable inventories and equipment list. Provide reports to the Departments leadership team as requestedReview and perform lab support staff training to ensure all are working to a consistent levelAssist scientists FM safety green lab teams to resolve problems and implement actions requiredProvides operational support on projects to build better understanding of business needs and identify opportunities for process improvementsOrganizes and leads regular lab improvement projects and leads any actions as requiredAssist in lab space planning for our new lab space in Kendall SquareSupport KSQ moveMust be flexible with working hours when necessaryManage Avantor lab support staff their day-to-day activitiesEssential Skills/Experience:A degree in biomedical sciences or related disciplines.Knowledge of biological and chemical safety requirements in a laboratory environment.Multiple years experience working in a laboratory environment ideally with previous laboratory management responsibility.Desirable Skills/Experience:Exceptional planning organizational analytical and networking skillsAbility to be flexible and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basisAbility to work collaboratively and influence people at all levelsExcellent English communication skillsExcellent problem-solving capabilities and confidence to make clear decisions sometimes with limited informationBe a good team player demonstrating loyalty and commitment to the organization and team membersSelf-motivated energetic dependable with a clear attention to detailProficient in Microsoft OfficeAre you interested in working at AZ apply today!AstraZeneca is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion and providing a workplace that is free from discrimination.
