OverviewElement has an opportunity for a Laboratory Assistant to join our rapidly expanding team in Fort Wayne IN. As a member of the administrative department at our Environmental Testing Laboratory in Fort Wayne IN the Laboratory Assistant position performs a variety of routine and non-routine assignments within the department to ensure timely and accurate testing is performed. The Laboratory Assistant position must be proficient in several core business skills including but not limited to compliance with established safety rules code of conduct and company policies and procedures.ResponsibilitiesReceive samples at the laboratoryInspect Chains of Custody and associated documentation for accuracy and completionLog samples into the Laboratory Information Management SystemPrepare sample bottles and testing kits for pickup delivery or shipmentPackage samples for subcontracting and shipmentOperate under the supervision of a senior Department SupervisorSkills / QualificationsWorking knowledge of laboratory safetyHS diploma or GED certificate preferred.
