Laboratory Maintenance TechnicianAbout This RoleWe are seeking a skilled Lab Maintenance Technician to join our specialized laboratory support team operating in an R&D and regulated GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environment. This comprehensive role focuses on maintaining critical laboratory equipment and utilities including temperature-sensitive systems sterilization equipment and water purification systems. You will perform equipment installation preventive maintenance emergency repairs and provide on-call support while ensuring strict compliance with GMP regulations and laboratory safety standardsWhat Youll DoPerform preventive maintenance troubleshooting and repairs on ultra-low temperature freezers (-80C) laboratory refrigerators cold rooms LN2 freezers and environmental chambersMaintain and repair sterilizers (autoclaves dry heat sterilizers depyrogenation ovens) glasswashers cage washers and laboratory cleaning equipmentService RODI (Reverse Osmosis Deionized) pure water systems including filters membranes UV sterilizers and water quality testingInstall and relocate laboratory equipment including analytical instruments environmental chambers cold storage units and utility equipmentCoordinate utility connections (electrical gas water compressed air) for equipment installationsPerform routine inspections of safety equipment (emergency showers eyewash stations fume hoods)Support vendor escortingMaintain detailed documentation of all maintenance activities according to site requirementsParticipate in rotating on-call schedule providing 24/7 maintenance support for critical systemsRespond to emergency calls and equipment alarms prioritizing failures that could impact product qualitySupport infrastructure improvement projects and provide technical expertise for equipment evaluationsWhat Were Looking ForRequired Qualifications:Technical degree/certification in HVAC Refrigeration Mechanical Electrical or related fieldMinimum 3-5 years of experience maintaining scientific or laboratory equipment preferably in GMP environmentDemonstrated knowledge of refrigeration systems particularly ultra-low temperature applicationsExperience with building management systems (BMS) and environmental monitoring systems (EMS)Understanding of GMP requirements and their application to equipment maintenanceValid drivers license and reliable transportation for on-call responsePhysical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environmental conditionsAbility to regularly climb extension ladders roof ladders stepladders and stairsFlexibility to bend stoop squat and stretch/reach on a repetitive basisComfortable working in temperature-controlled environments including cold roomsManual dexterity for precision work and component repairsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in pharmaceutical biotech or healthcare facilitiesKnowledge of calibration processes for temperature and monitoring equipmentExperience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)This position does not provide visa sponsorship.
