Every division within the agency plays a vital role in keeping us in the forefront nationally...GRADE12Salary range$51580.00 - $70744.00/year with potential growth to $79673.LOCATION OF POSITION10 East Baltimore Street Baltimore MD 21202Main Purpose of JobManage and schedule interpreter services for hearings meetings and other proceedings in compliance with COMAR 14.09.03.04. Assign interpreters based on language proficiency subject matter expertise and availability using CompHub and the Maryland State Foreign Language Vendor.To support the effective administration and improvement of agency programs by collecting analyzing and interpreting data; applying relevant laws and regulations; assisting in program planning and implementation; and providing informed recommendations to enhance organizational performance and role blends analytical administrative and consultative responsibilities to ensure programs operate efficiently and in compliance with applicable role requires adherence to regulations timely processing of documents accurate communication and a high level of responsiveness to internal and external stakeholders.POSITION DUTIESInterpreter Scheduling & CoordinationManage and schedule interpreter services for hearings meetings and other proceedings in compliance with COMAR 14.09.03.04;Assign interpreters based on language proficiency subject matter expertise and availability using CompHub and The State of Marylands foreign Language Vendor;Coordinate both oral interpretation and written translation services using qualified interpreters/translators;Update interpreter requests related to continuations or rescheduling of hearings;Communicate sudden schedule changes to in-house interpreters and affected parties;Schedule Interpreter Services for Video Remote Hearings;Collaborate with Division Director to ensure compliance with House Bill 1473 requirements;Be part of a transformative initiative that ensures Marylands public services are inclusive and accessible to Maryland citizens.Data Management & ComplianceProcess interpreter requests via CompHub in accordance with COMAR 14.09.03.04;Obtain analyze and interpret data to apply relevant rules regulations and standards;Maintain accurate records of interpreter assignments language requests and service timelines;Maintain a current list of vendors and the Maryland Judiciary Interpreter Registry of certified and qualified interpreters.Stakeholder CommunicationProvide information to callers regarding laws rules regulations operations and procedures governing the agency;Engage in dialogue with Commissioners attorneys and claimants to confirm requested accommodation;Route IPO inquiries from voicemail and email to the appropriate subject matter expert.Other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.Experience: Two years of experience performing administrative staff clerical clerical technical or secretarial work.Notes:1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience.2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSProficiency with Excel spreadsheetsAbility to manage multiple platforms and high-volume communication (phone email portals)Experience gathering and compiling statistical data for monthly reportsStrong Customer Service SkillsGood organizational and time-management skillsLICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONSEmployees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.
