Laser Operator at Aerotek
JOB DESCRIPTION
Laser Operator
Operate laser machinery and inspect parts using calipers, gauges, and micrometers. Be comfortable reading blueprints and schematics, working with tolerances as low as.0 and sometimes in the negatives. Change out broken tooling, adjust offsets, and perform preventative maintenance on machines as needed. Each operator is responsible for running three machines simultaneously. Experience with microscopes is a significant advantage.
Responsibilities
- Operate laser machines and inspect parts using calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Work with precise tolerances, including negative values.
- Change out broken tooling and adjust machine offsets.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machines as needed.
- Manage and operate three machines concurrently.
- Utilize microscopes for detailed inspections, if applicable.
Essential Skills
- Experience in CNC machining and machine operation.
- Quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with CNC equipment.
- Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, and microscopes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Bonus experience in the medical device field is advantageous.
- Open to candidates with experience in OEMs.
- Experience in medical device assembly is a plus.

Work Environment
The work environment is a climate-controlled, extremely clean medical device facility. Employees must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) of the facility. The shift is from 7 AM to 3 PM.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
