Launch Integrated Product Team (IPT) LeadCompany:The Boeing CompanyBoeing Satellite Production Engineering (SPE) located in El Segundo CA is seeking a highly skilled and motivated team member to serve in the Launch Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead this role you will utilize your experience to provide project and technical leadership and ensure common practices across programs and product lines for definition of launch interfaces documentation of engineering requirements and analyses of launch and ascent environments.During project execution the Launch IPT lead leads a multi-skilled multi-disciplined team in the performance of a launch campaign of an assigned satellite in accordance with customer requirements business objectives and Boeing processes.Within the scope of launch you will lead project execution to complete the work statement and identify performance metrics. As the Launch IPT lead you will plan and coordinate resources required over the life of the project assign responsibility for activities to team members and ensure technical correctness and consistency of the satellite product; compare actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance efficiencies productivity and lessons learned; identify corrective actions to improve team performance and future project execution.The role entails travel possibly for extended duration typically up to 4-8 weeks at a time at a domestic or foreign launch site.Responsibilities:Manages launch vehicle mechanical electrical and environmental interfaces for spacecraft launching on various launch vehicles including but not limited to: Ariane Atlas Falcon Proton and VulcanResponsible for satellite-to-launch vehicle interface design requirements approval of Interface Control Document (ICD) spacecraft test programs coordinating satellite processing activities at the launch site launch countdown activities and shipping logisticsLaunch campaign manager leading a team of 30 individuals conducting spacecraft integration test and propulsion activities at Cape Canaveral and international launch sites including French Guiana and KazakhstanDevelop and maintain detailed launch integration and operations schedules.Optimize processing schedules shoulder-to-shoulder with the customer and consultants to achieve optimum durationsProvides technical leadership and ensures common engineering process/practices for El Segundo Satellite Division Launch preparations and launch campaignsServes as the primary launch liaison to launch service providers (both foreign and domestic) and commercial or government customersPrimary interface with customers and subcontractors on all matters related to spacecraft launch vehicle interfaces and spacecraft launch site operations.Works closely with program managers program and functional chief engineers to ensure mission success and prompt resolution of issues and anomaliesProject Manager for all launch related tasks: including technical cost schedule and risk/opportunity managementProject management: adopts and drives common practices to meet programs cost schedule quality and technical objectives including capturing lessons learned and best practices for implementation on future programsRequires working at remote launch site environments where it is necessary to deal with unforeseen challenges crisis management and effectively address issues in a timely manner in order to maintain critical milestone datesLeads the development of launch related documentation including interface requirements and control documents launch operations plans and procedures and safety submittalsCoordinates preparation and delivery of spacecraft analysis models and analysis reportsEnsure team members use established Boeing Space and Launch systems processes procedures and best practices as appropriateManages ITAR and EAR exports to international customers and launch services providers.25% travel is requiredThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science.5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.3 years experience in systems engineering processes and tools2 years of experience in data analysis and/or process improvements and/or manufacturing engineering and/or production system developments7 years of experience with space launch vehicle or satellite programs5 years of experience in leading a multi-skilled teamWilling and able to travel both domestically and internationally up to 8 weeks at a time (approximately 25%)Willing and able to obtain an SSBI Background Investigation for Top Secret/SCI Security ClearancePreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Launch systems engineering and operations experienceExperience interfacing with external customers subcontractors launch vehicle suppliersExperience as a Project Manager in a Production/Operations EnvironmentExcellent written and oral communication presentation and interpersonal skillsMulti-skill leader solid problem Solving & decision-making skillsSatellite systems integration and test experience.Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
