Days per Year: 260Min: $36400Mid: $42806JOB DESCRIPTIONJOB TITLE:Lead Asset Mover - Distribution Services DepartmentREPORT TO:Forman-Distribution ServicesWAGE/HOUR STATUS: NonexemptPAY GRADE:AUX 5PRIMARY PURPOSE:The Lead Asset Mover oversees and participates in the relocation setup and organization of physical assetsincluding furniture equipment and materials across facilities or project sites. This position ensures safe efficient and timely movement of items while leading a team of movers coordinating logistics and maintaining accurate records of asset locations and conditions.All employees of SISD are expected to act with integrity support organizational goals communicate in a clear and respectful manner championing the needs of our students and drive continuous improvement.QUALIFICATIONS: Required:High School graduate or GED.Minimum of 2 years of experience in asset moving logistics facilities operations or related field.At least 1 year of experience leading a team.Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 75 lbs.) frequently and safely.Appropriate valid Texas drivers license.Experience pulling trailers.Forklift experience.Preferred:Experience with asset tracking software or warehouse management systems.Knowledge of ergonomics and safe lifting techniques.SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:Strong leadership and communication skills.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft g-mail asset data base work order system).Problem solving skills to address unexpected challenges during moves.Knowledge of safety regarding the movement of heavy itemsAbility to haul material using trailers and to operate a forkliftAbility to read floor plans move maps relocation schematics follow written and oral instructions diagrams and manufacturers manuals.Knowledge of potential hazards and necessary safety precautions involved in use of equipment required by the job.Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships.Customer service oriented displaying a positive attitude.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Lead train and coordinate a team of asset movers or laborers in daily moving operations.Execute the relocation of office furniture equipment and materials according to project schedules.Ensure proper handling packaging and protection of assets to prevent damage during transit.Operate moving equipment safely and efficiently including pallet jacks dollies forklifts and lift gates.Load and unload vehicles following safety protocols and weight distribution standards.Maintain accurate inventory and documentation of all moved assets using asset management systems.Communicate effectively with department/campus concerning special requirements.Inspect equipment and vehicles before and after use; report maintenance or safety issues.Respond to district requests in urgent situations.Assist with set-up and breakdown of special events.Collaborate with the Fixed Asset Clerk and provide support as needed at the Fixed Asset Warehouse.Assist with auction related activities.Communicate with internal and external customers regarding materials transfer requirements.Assist the Fixed Asset Specialist with asset management projects as needed.Perform other related duties as assigned. Type of Equipment Used:Forklifts (sit-down and stand-up)Pallet jacks (manual and electric)Hand trucks dollies ladders and cartsMoving straps blankets gondolas and protective materialsLift gates and loading rampsCompany vehicles (box trucks dually truck trailers tractor vans)Power tools small toolsComputer barcode scanners or handheld inventory devicesEssential Functions Requires:Ability to bend kneel twist reach push pull stand climb and walk.Normal mobility of fingers hands wrists arms neck back waist legs knees and ankles.Ability to bend over at the waist and twist entire trunk from side to side.Ability to reach above the head and in front of the body at least 24 inches.Ability to push and pull items up to 150 poundsAbility to lift material up to 50 poundsAbility to walk at a pace necessary to complete work schedule.Ability to drive while pulling an open and enclosed trailer.Work Environment:Work performed indoors and outdoors in a variety of environments (office warehouse facility grounds).Exposure to moderate noise dust and temperature fluctuations.Frequent standing walking bending lifting and carrying heavy items.Occasional overtime weekend or evening work may be required for scheduled moves or special projects.WORKING CONDITIONS:The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following: ability to work in a fast-paced high-intensity work environment efficiently and effectively with frequent interruptions. Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer.
