Position Overview
The Lead Installer reports directly to the Production Manager and works closely with Project Managers to perform installation, start‑up and close‑out of all jobs. The role includes assisting with design, training apprentices, managing inventory, ensuring safety compliance and maintaining project schedules.
Responsibilities
- Install and pull wire according to specifications.
- Wire equipment used in systems.
- Test all equipment after termination to ensure system performance.
- Work in compliance with the company safety manual.
- Submit required paperwork (e.g., redlines, vehicle log, time cards) on time.
- Maintain install van and van stock, keeping it clean and organized.
- Communicate daily with Project Managers on delays, requirements and job status.
- Maintain accurate logbooks for customer requests, work performed, job numbers, dates, times and tasks assigned to apprentices.
- Accurately submit timebills in Q360 and track apprentice timecards.
- Oversee installation crews to keep jobs on track and within estimates.
- Train apprentices on company procedures, systems and installation techniques.
- Ensure all work meets company standards and quality techniques.
- Ensuring work stays within each phase's estimate (e.g., wire pull, mounting).
- Work with Systems Engineers during startup to ensure complete system compliance.
- Coordinate with Project Managers to complete close‑out and turnover to client and service department.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 3+ years in the electronic field using AC/DC theory on a daily basis.
- Proper hand‑ and power‑tool operations and safety.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to wire and troubleshoot relay logic.
- Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CTS Certification
Travel Requirements
- Travel may be required depending on business needs.
Compensation
$43.50 – $48.00 /hr (dependent on background and experience). Pay ranges may vary by location. The job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation.
