You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our discipline with a clear pathway toward broader technical and practice leadership.Responsibilities & QualificationsWhat Youll Do:Serve as the technical lead for transit and rail communications systems setting direction providing quality oversight and driving excellence across all phases of design and delivery.Lead by example in the development of complex OT networks and communications systems including:Fiber infrastructure and backbone communicationsRadio systemsCCTV and security video systemsPassenger Information Systems and digital signageCAD/AVL systemsSCADA for traction power and train controlPhysical Access Control Systems (PACS)UPS and critical systems within communications/server roomsAudio/visual systems and storage solutionsMentor coach and elevate junior engineers and designers fostering a culture of curiosity growth and high performance through warm relatable and patient leadership.Guide development of contract drawings technical specifications and construction-phase deliverables ensuring clarity constructability and adherence to project requirements.Lead design reviews and evaluate technical criteria scopes of work specifications and standard drawings.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams bringing thoughtful empathetic communication and strong interpersonal skills to client interfaces and internal coordination.Support project management activities including estimating planning and coordination while positioning yourself for future leadership within the communications discipline.What Were Looking For:Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Systems Engineering or related field (required)Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one (strongly preferred)10 years of progressive experience in rail/transit communications systems engineering or electrical designDeep technical knowledge of communications networks OT systems devices and network securityProficiency with design tools such as MicroStation AutoCAD or similar platformsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build trust motivate teams and connect with staff at all levelsA collaborative mindset with a passion for guiding others and shaping the future of the disciplineA steady positive presencesomeone who embraces complexity and leads with patience warmth and confidenceWhy Join UsClear Growth Path: This role is designed for a future discipline leader.
