Job Description SummaryThe successful candidate will work cross functionally supporting controllership FP&A and project teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of general accounting tasks for Colibrium Additives business operations based in USA and Germany. These include operational accounting general ledger management Balance sheet reviews among others. The successful candidate will also be responsible leading an effective and efficient revenue recognition process on machine and services sales and will play a significant role in the effectiveness of the Colibrium Additives monthly and quarterly close process. They will be responsible for driving technical accounting compliance financial and operational internal controls process simplification and operational excellence to deliver accurate financial reporting and analysis for assigned areas of responsibility.This role can be based in USA Germany or Sweden and so the successful candidate will need to work within teams and cross functionally across different time zones. Employment decisions are made without regard to race color religion national or ethnic origin sex sexual orientation gender identity or expression age disability protected veteran status or other characteristics protected by law.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesResponsible for Colibrium Additives general accounting processes and close including:Own the monthly financial close process (post Journals review TBs prepare/review reconciliations) and leadership reportingInventory including participation in resolution of CAS Schedule II findingRevenue recognition application for machine sales services powder and AddworksReserves related to inventory and purchase price accountingOther general accounting processes as deemed necessaryBalance sheet analytical reviews for areas of assigned responsibilityPreparation of account reconciliations for assigned responsibilityEnsure proper accounting for sales within GE through coordination with contacts within Colibrium Additive GE Aerospace and other GE businessesResponsible for preparation of key disclosure to GE Corporate regarding Colibrium Additive internal salesOwn and maintain relationships with key contacts in business operations including Supply Chain Engineering and Product ManagementIdentify and facilitate simplification opportunities to improve the efficiency of closing processes eliminate manual effort and maximize automation of accounting processesUnderstand interpret and develop (as needed) applicable Enterprise Standards Standard Operating Procedures and Process Maps for assigned areas of accountingPartner with Colibrium Additive / Aerospace technical controllership business finance and global operations contacts to deliver timely high quality financial reporting informationSupport internal and external corporate accounting and auditing processesQualifications/RequirementsBachelors degree from an accredited university or college5 or more years of experience in accountingAbility to coordinate several projects simultaneously.Ability to anticipate communicate report and resolve challengesProven analytical and organizational ability.Effective problem identification and solution skills.Understanding of how operational processes link to the financial statementDesired CharacteristicsCPA CA and/or public accounting experience preferredOperational controllership experience preferred but not requiredExperience working with business operational partners preferred but not requiredStrong interpersonal skills and professional style when dealing with business contacts including both oral and written communicationDetail-oriented and strong time management skillsDemonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problemsFlexible approach with a strong team spiritCompliance & controllership mindsetComfortable to execute through uncertaintyExperience with Microsoft Office products Oracle accounting/ERP systemsGE Aerospace offers a great work environment professional development challenging careers and competitive compensation.
