Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Field Service Technician for a direct hire role in Goldsboro NC.The Lead Field Service Technician will be expected to travel throughout the USA. Field Service projects may include installations repair and maintenance of electrical components/power transformers. This role will provide on-site project support/execution and planning to Field Service crews.Pay: $46-54/h (depending on experience)Benefits: Comprehensive employee benefitsRESPONSIBILITIES FOR LEAD SERVICE TECHNICIANMust be able to drive company vehicle/equipment.Receive assignments and instructions from manager both oral and written.Read understand and follow guidelines set forth Company procedures and blueprints when performing assigned work. Lead other Field Service team members.Holding team accountable to project schedule executionTroubleshoot and resolve technical complex issues. Knowledge/troubleshooting experience of electrical testing/theory.Knowledge/troubleshooting experience of controlsKnowledge/troubleshooting experience of oil processingUnderstand and interpret blueprints.Compose Field Reports (Daily Activity reports etc.) and any other job site customer specific reports to management/customer in a timely manner.Manage equipment maintenance on each job site.Manage job site safety.Conduct pre-job/post-job walks.Assist Service Work Planner with following on-site project management: budget scope of work schedule manpower task prioritization and multi-tasking.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIESMechanically inclined and have basic knowledge of hand toolsUnderstanding of transformer/industry specifications to be able to troubleshoot/analyze data.Conform with and abide by all regulations policies work procedures and instructions.Basic understanding of operating heavy machinery/equipment.Self-directed positive attitude willingness to learn and ability to follow instructions/directions.Computer skills.Conform to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipmentExcellent communication skills both verbal and written.Required Education / ExperienceThis role needs to be proficient in technical competencies: Transformer Assembly Electrical Testing Controls LTCs and Oil Processing.High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Advanced post-high school level education in lieu of 3 years of industry specific work experienceUtility experienceValid Drivers LicenseKey Working RelationshipsWorks with other departments: Components Sales/Marketing transformer plants-Goldsboro Waukesha Communicates with customers and managers who may have inquiries about aspects of the job which entails the exchange of accurate information and quick decisions in these situations. Physical DemandsEstimated hours for this position is 60 hours a weekAbility to remain in a standing position 90% of the time. Ability to travel 95% of the time to different job sites throughout the region.
