They will provide care for patients including adults and geriatrics based upon defined standards of patient care.Essential Functions: Operates digital radiographic imaging equipment following state and department radiation safety measures demonstrating proficiency and skill Performs procedures to ensure quality patient care in accordance with Radiologists expectations and protocols Maintains responsibility for call shifts/duties as scheduled Encourages patient and family to participate in healthcare decisions and teaching Accurately screens patients following department screening form and notifies Physician or RN if patient has history of contrast allergy or if one occurs IV infiltration positive pregnancy status or any abnormal findings Assumes personal responsibility for maintaining professional development credentials certifications licensure and continuing education Monitors department productivity and supplies communicates purchasing needsShift Requirements:Shift Length (in hours): Eight Hour Shifts with Call Requirements# Shifts/Week: 5 days a weekOvertime Required: Infrequently Sometimes Often n/a (exempt position)Other Functions: Orients new team members regarding protocols specific to department as needed Maintains compliance with all company policies procedures and standards of conduct Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times Performs other duties as assignedAdditional Job Description:Job Requirements(Education Experience Licensure and Certification)Education: Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology (required)Experience: One year of recent hospital radiology experience (required) One year of procedural radiology (Cath lab/IR) experience (preferred)Licensure: Possess and maintain certification by the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (required) Licensed in the Commonwealth of Kentucky (required)Certification: CI/RCIS or VI pathway must be completed within 18 months of hire (required)Job Competency:Knowledge Skills and Abilities critical to this role: Knowledgeable and skillful in general x-ray control and terminology Demonstrates proficiency in the operation of digital radiographic imaging equipment following state and department radiation safety measures Able to orient new team members regarding protocols specific to department Must have strong relationship building skills and the ability to make and use connections throughout UofL Health Must have strong initiative and be able to gather and analyze information skillfully and be able to brainstorm alternative resources and directions Must be able to break down complex tasks into manageable parts in a systematic manner Must be able to problem-solve by identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner as well as develop alternative solutions when neededLanguage Ability: Adequate conversational English is required to take direction from management understand how to complete job tasks communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary understand and follow safety guidelines and organizational policiesReasoning Ability: Able to critically think through complex patient situations process improvements evidence-based practice Able to assist others in developing clinical reasoning skillsComputer Skills: Knowledge of Cerner and McKesson preferred Must have the capacity to learn other relevant systems and databases as neededAdditional Responsibilities: Demonstrates a commitment to service organization values and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor at all times Maintains confidentiality and protects sensitive data at all times Adheres to organizational and department specific safety standards and guidelines Works collaboratively and supports efforts of team members Demonstrates exceptional customer service and interacts effectively with physicians patients residents visitors staff and the broader health care communityUofL Health Core Expectation:At UofL Health we expect all our employees to live the values of honesty integrity and compassion and demonstrate these values in their interactions with others and as they deliver excellent patient care by: Honoring and caring for the dignity of all persons in mind body and spirit Ensuring the highest quality of care for those we serve Working together as a team to achieve our goals Improving continuously by listening and asking for and responding to feedback Seeking new and better ways to meet the needs of those we serve Using our resources wisely Understanding how each of our roles contributes to the success of UofL Health Key Skills Environmental Safety,J2se,ABAP,Flexcube,Health And Safety Management,BI Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
