ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize's Lead Laborer Day shift position is a multi-skilled position responsible for the ground operations and supervision of laborers. They will work at the Fox River Decorative Stone yard loading and unloading trucks utilizing various material handling equipment and will be customer-facing. This position will use a variety of tools and equipment to support operations, including shovels, bobcats, forklifts, and loaders.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Practice and promote safety in such a way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate PPE.
  • Perform inspections and checklists on work areas.
  • Loads and unloads trucks with product using a variety of handling equipment.
  • Stacking and organizing inventory.
  • Assist in inventory management.
  • Actively support key safety initiatives at the facility and assist as needed to improve EHS.
  • Communicates effectively and timely with staff.
  • Ensure all work areas are clean, tidy and organized at all times.
  • Performs light maintenance.
  • Problem solving.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Education: High School diploma/GED
Required Work Experience: 3-5 years industrial experience, supervisor experience a plus
Required: Bilingual English/Spanish
Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic computer skills

Additional Requirements:
  • A good understanding of the hardscape industry and products
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • High degree of safety awareness
  • Initiative; ability to learn; team player; and strong communication/interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with minimum direct supervision
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
