JOB DESCRIPTION

Advanced Foot & Ankle Wellness Center is seeking a reliable and highly organized Part-Time Lead Medical Assistant to support a busy podiatry practice.

This role is ideal for an experienced Medical Assistant who enjoys working in a small specialty practice environmentand takes pride in helping keep clinic operations running smoothly. The position involves a combination of clinical assisting and patient coordination, working directly with the physician while collaborating with remote administrative staff who assist with phones, insurance verification, and patient communication.

Because this is a small specialty practice, this role requires a high level of responsibility, attention to detail, and organization in maintaining well-prepared exam rooms, accurate documentation, and proper clinic procedures.

Responsibilities

Clinical Support

  • Room patients and obtain medical histories and vitals
  • Assist with podiatric procedures including nail procedures, injections, and wound care
  • Prepare and clean exam rooms between patients
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain clinical equipment
  • Assist with orthotic casting/scanning and DME documentation
  • Maintain organized exam rooms and clinical supplies

Patient Coordination

  • Assist with patient check-in and check-out when needed
  • Collect copays and patient balances
  • Coordinate follow-up scheduling
  • Ensure required documentation is completed (consents, ABNs, etc.)
  • Communicate with remote administrative staff to maintain smooth workflow

Clinic Operations

  • Maintain organized exam rooms and clinical areas
  • Ensure proper equipment shutdown and end-of-day procedures
  • Assist with supply tracking and inventory
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
Qualifications
  • 1–3+ years Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Experience in podiatry, orthopedics, dermatology, or other procedural specialties is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable assisting with both clinical and administrative tasks
  • Dependable and able to manage responsibilities independently in a small practice setting

We are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining accurate documentation, properly prepared exam rooms, and organized clinical workflows throughout the day.

Schedule

Part-Time

Schedule

  • 3 days per week, Every other week: 4 days
  • Monday: 11:30am-7:00pm, Weds &Friday 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM (Every other Thursday 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM) ( potential for additional administrative hours as needed)
  • No weekend

Schedule is consistent and planned in advance.


Compensation

$20 – $30 per hour depending on experience, clinical skills, and leadership capability.

New hires begin with a training period, followed by a 90-day performance review with the opportunity for a wage adjustment based on demonstrated competency and job performance.
