Rooted in and primarily focused on the Chelsea neighborhood, we seek to empower all individuals and families to achieve their highest potential, while maintaining a priority on those in economic need.Our Early ChildhoodEducation departmentservices low income children ages 2to4 in Chelsea and other neighboring communities on the west side of Manhattan. Whether you're a recent graduate who is new to the field, or a seasoned veteran teacher, we welcome all teachers to join Hudson Guild in creating a healthy, nurturing and collaborative learning environment. Following DOH Article 47 programming, our teachers implement curriculum that supports each child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth and development.Our Early Childhood Education department is a 12 month program.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Early Childhood (Birth-Grade 2); Nursery, Kindergarten, and Grades 1-6 (N-6); Students with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2)BA in Early Childhood EducationA Master's in Early Childhood Education and/or related fieldWork a daily 8 hour shift, Monday-FridayPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bilingual in either Spanish/English; Mandarin/English; Cantonese/EnglishRESPONSIBILITIES:Work collaboratively with classroom staff to ensure a safe and healthy classroomSupervise staff in the classroom including assistant teachers, aides, volunteers, and therapistsDevelop lesson plans that are aligned with the Creative Curriculum format and the Common Core StandardsEffectively communicate the development and progress of children with families using cultural sensitivityResponsible for identifying children with disabilities and assisting with referralsMaintain up to date documentation for children in your classroom, including being responsible for assessing children in the classroom, writing monthly observations, and conducting home visitsResponsible for maintaining and updating classroom setting regularlyAttend weekly teacher meetings, monthly in-service training's, and other professional developmenttraining'sFollow governing agency guidelines including the Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, HeadStart, Administration for Childrens Services, and Universal Pre-KindergartenPerform other duties as assignedCOMPREHENSIVE BENEFITS:Union position Health InsuranceDentalVisionLife Insurance 403bAs a NYC contracted agency all positions at Hudson Guild fall under the NYC vaccine mandate.
