Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWhite Pine Childcare is a locally-owned licensed childcare center that provides loving care to infants, toddlers and preschoolers. As we continue to expand enrollment at center, we are searching for amazing teachers to join our cohesive family of teachers and aides! Currently we are interviewing qualified LEAD TEACHER candidates that have experience working with infants, toddlers or preschoolers in a licensed setting and have a PASSION for providing care for our littlest friends. We offer a competitive salary and a fun place work!RELATIONSHIPS:Reports to: Owner and Director of ChildcareSupervises: Assistant Teachers, Student Workers, Student Teachers, Teacher Aides, VolunteersINTERFACES WITH:Staff, Enrolled Children, Families, Community-at-LargeQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors Degree, Pre-kindergarten Teaching License or CDA certificate preferredRESPONSIBILITIES (includes but are not limited to):40 hours weeklyPasses Background Study and FingerprintingMaintains pre-kindergarten licensure or other credential requirementsFollows child care regulations as presented in Department of Human Services, Statute 9503 (Rule 3)Documents and reports suspected cases of child abuse to Child ProtectionCompletes required in-service training each yearCompletes first-aid/CPR training every two (2) yearsDirectly supervises the toddler programSupervises Assistant Teacher, Aides, and Volunteers in the toddler roomSupervises practicum/student teachers as assignedCoordinates the schedules with staff in the room when a substitute is usedSees that the daily needs of the child are metCompletes the Daily Report for each child (Toddler and Infants)Supervises the food records (Toddlers and Infants)Meets weekly with teaching team to discuss management of classroomPlans and implements curriculum along with teaching teamMaintains learning areas as specified in DHS Rule 3:Large muscle, Art and music, Dramatic play, Reading area, Science, Manipulatives, Block area, Water and/or sand areaPlans and posts weekly lesson plansMaintains bulletin boards in the toddler classroomWorks with consultants for the development or improvement of the centerMaintains daily attendance recordsCommunicates with parents informally through verbal communication, telephone, and /or emailInforms parents when children are ill or injuredCompletes accident reports when necessaryMaintains individual childs assessment and portfolio documentationParticipates in two (2) parent conferences annuallyWorks in collaboration with other center staffMaintains general cleaning of their classroom, equipment and materials and shares overall center cleaning responsibilities with all center staffParticipates in staff curriculum planning when appropriateParticipates in staff meetingsConducts daily safety check of their room and playgroundAny other duties as assigned by DirectorInforms Director of any safety concerns or supply needsPhysical Requirements:Must be physically able to perform the job of a teacher of young childrenMust be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds with or without helpMust be able to stand for long periods of timeMust be able to bend, squatMust be able to sit on the floor comfortablyJob Type: Full-timeSalary: $18.00+ per hourBenefits:Employee discountFlexible schedulePaid time offProfessional development financial assistanceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayEducation/Certification:High school or equivalentQualified as Lead Teacher per MN DHS Rule 3CPR and First Aid Certification
