The Lead Teacher is also the primary communicator with the families of the children in their class.Philosophy and CurriculumDevelop Topic Studies, Weekly Intentions and manifestations that embody LLs philosophy and curriculum. This includes a final presentation of the culminating results of the Topic Study.Complete, post and email Weekly Intentions completed before school begins each Monday.Ensure classroom materials, supplies and teaching are developmentally appropriate.Challenge children with stimulating interactions and materials.Deliver information in an accessible and engaging manner.Use technology in an intentional and pedagogical context.Complete Lupine Lanes Key Developmental Goal Assessment once in the fall semester and once in the spring semester for each student in the lead teachers class.Physical EnvironmentCreate and maintain a welcoming and stimulating classroom.Arrange the classroom to allow for proper supervision and engagement.Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness daily.Be resourceful and respectful with school materials and supplies.Maintain common area organization.Ensure the classroom reflects evidence of learning.Use school-provided technology in a pedagogical context.Refrain from bringing in any personal technology into the classroom.Interactions with ChildrenAble to lift 35 pounds.Exhibit mutual respect with children.Use developmentally appropriate interactions with children.Welcome each child upon arrival.Adhere to positive discipline policy.Use a pleasant tone and mild manner.Use no more than 2 copied sheets per child per week.Focus on any screen (computer, iPad) should be no more than 2 minutes when children are present, even if another teacher or caregiver is present.Complete administrative work when children are not present.Interactions with FamiliesWarmly greet families and check each child in and out as he/she arrives and leaves.Respect confidentiality.Mindful of individual time during pick up and drop off.Use positive and appropriate words and body language.Work as a team with families to promote each childs best interests. This may include additional and individualized communication including meetings, phone calls and emails.Conduct at least two family/teacher conferences with each family in class, each school year and provide Lupine Lanes Key Developmental Goals Assessment and Literacy and Math Assessment to family.
